The Cīrulīši Nature Trails offer an inspiring walk through the development of the beautiful Gauja Valley from the Ice Age to the present day. They reveal the history of the development of the Gauja River and the surrounding nature. How did the river originate? What were the ancient plants like? What were the first inhabitants? Find out on a leisurely stroll through this fairy-tale place that people from all over the world come to admire.
There are three easy-access routes – 2.7 km, 3.5 km and 6.2 km long. The walk includes fascinating natural sights: the spectacular Mirror Cliffs (Cīrulīši Cliffs), Dzidravots, Līgavas Caves and more.
The trails start in the Žagarkalns campsite and are free of charge. The campsite is a great place for a picnic at the end of the walk, there is also a toilet, a tourist information point and boats for hire. The trails are suitable for Nordic walkers and cyclists.
