The Virsainiai Waterfall offers an unprecedented hiking programme for school-age children!
With more than 10 years of survival experience in Latvian nature, Georgian mountains and African jungles, instructor and owner of Virsaiši Waterfall Marats Eglītis is ready to encourage children to explore new things and discover skills they never knew they had.

The hiking programme is designed to teach children skills related to survival in nature, safety in nature, trust in their abilities and in their classmates. It is based on physical activity in the fresh air and nature, with 100% support and safety!

Groups of 15 to 45 participants are welcome.

OFFER

“Survivor of Virsaisi” (3-6 h) – depending on the age of the participants, the difficulty level is changed individually.
The hike takes place in a forest area, in the surroundings of Virsaisi waterfall – in the authentic survivor settlement of the Abava valley in Talsi district.

The hiking distance is 2-10km, during which:

* Given tasks that encourage children to cooperate and communicate.
* Practical skills and safety.
* Simulation of an ambulance call.
* Evacuation of the victim by the victim’s own efforts.

At the end of the event, the participants are definitely winners. Young people will go home with theoretical knowledge and practical skills that will help them in their future lives. The event will be remembered for a lifetime.

Water, tea, coffee, sausages and marshmallows are included in the price.

What is our action plan? What will we learn in the programme?

• Fire-making skills (children have to build their own fire with the help of a flint).
• Skills to create shelter in the forest with natural materials.
• Knowledge of water filtration – boiling without a kettle.
• Exploring nature; trees, terrain, animals, routes, orienteering with a compass, finding the cardinal points and what to do if you get lost in the forest.
• The importance of water and food on a hike.
• Medical emergency knowledge – what to do if you need an ambulance for yourself and others.

IMPORTANT

In advance of the event, the instructor will send instructions with information about possible weather conditions, clothing choices and what to bring to the event.

PRICE

• 20 EUR/person.
• Minimum programme price: €400.
• Included in the prices: equipment for the activities, event management, lunch (sausage, marshmallows, biscuits, tea, water).
• Teachers can participate free of charge. Teachers are pampered – enjoy nature and relax during the event!
