For those who like slow walks and beautiful views of nature, Cīrava Forest Park has a walking trail with benches and bridges. Most of the trail runs along the banks of the Durbe River, revealing the many curves and beaver holes, stands of hornbeam, birch, aspen and pine.
For those who like to be more active, there is the “Beaver Trail” with a large rope bridge, climbing walls, swings and various other activities.
In 2018, one of the nature trails in Cīrava Forest Park has become the “Sound Trail”. It features five different locations, all of which are made of metal and can be used to create sounds, which are unprecedented in Latvia. The project “Production and installation of sound-creating environmental objects in Cīrava Forest Park” has been implemented with the support of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and Aizpute Municipality.
Legend Trail
If you leave your car at Cīrava Lutheran Church, you can enjoy several wood sculptures on the way to Forest Park .
2018.In the summer of 2018, the Cīrava Castle Park (~7 ha) hosted the wood sculpture symposium “Legends of Cīrava Park”, which brought together eight Latvian fine artists and created a wooden sculpture trail with freely accessible artworks.
The sculptures are made of wind-broken and dried ash trees, without changing their natural position.
Grasslandtrail
In 2019, thanks to the active employees of the “LESJOFORS” company with their families and the employees of the Municipality of Cīrava, another part of the Forest Park was cleaned and landscaped. Three recreational facilities, a bridge and five benches with waste bins were installed. As the recreational facilities are built on springs, the new trail was named the “Grassland Trail”.
