ABOUT US
Lēdurga Dendrological Park is one of the largest and richest dendrological plantations in Latvia. The park was founded in 1973 and lovingly created throughout his life by the Lēdurga gardener Arvīds Janitens (1923-2009) – a legend who acquired all the necessary knowledge of botany, plant biology, ecology and dendrology through self-education, creating one of the most extensive collections of woody plants in Latvia.
The park is full of magic in all seasons – in spring, magnolias, rhododendrons, robins, elms, weigelas and philadelphus bloom here; in summer, hydrangeas, wigwood, smokewood, walnut trees, various maple species delight the eyes; and in winter, the blooming of magic wands, Māka rock plantations, spruces, yews and junipers abound in colour. Many tropical and subtropical plants are also well integrated into the park. In the territory of the Lēdurga Dendropark there is the legendary Lēdurga or Mudurga boulder, which is more than 2 m high and 4 m long with a circumference of 13.5 m and a volume of 19 m3.

1.Two disc golf courses are available – a beginner’s course and an advanced players’ course.

3.Ledurga Dendropark offers 5 types of guided tours, which include a guided tour not only of the park, but also of the surrounding area and other historical sites:
- “Educational tour with materials and tasks”.
- (Park territory) Duration: 1,5h – 2h
- “Park’s plant world”.
- (Park area) Duration: 1,5 h
- “Discover the historical and natural diversity of Lēdurga”. (Lēdurga territory) Duration: 3h.
- “Get to know the grove of springs” (Straupe and Lēdurga territory)
- “Lapu River in Lēdurga” (Lēdurga territory). Length of the trail: 4.8km
The park also has disc golf, which has recently become a very popular sport!

Free entry:
- For preschool children (up to and including 6 years).
- For pupils of Sigulda municipality educational institutions, upon presentation of a valid pupil ID issued by the educational institution.
- Orphans and persons with disabilities of 1st and 2nd group.
- Per teacher/carer (per class of 10 pupils).
Free parking available.
ADDITIONAL OFFER
When booking a tour it is possible to book a hot lunch and enjoy it at the picnic area by the mighty Mudurga boulder. Lunch at extra cost – price depends on your preference. (book 3-5 days in advance).
