Latvenergo Group generates a large part of its electricity from the three largest hydroelectric power plants (HPPs) in Latvia, which provide an environmentally friendly way of producing electricity, as they are powered by water, a renewable energy resource. The Riga HPP was commissioned in 1974. It has 6 hydro generators with a total capacity of 402 MW. Visit the Riga HPP and find out how electricity is produced!
