ABOUT THE MUSEUM

Located in the administrative centre of Rezekne, close to the monument of the Liberation of Latgale “United for Latvia”, surrounded by a group of gloriously blooming roses and the monument of poet, artist and former museum employee Anton Kukoys (1940-2007), the Museum of Cultural History of Latgale invites you to experience the special breath of Latgale through exploring its cultural and historical heritage.

PERMANENT EXHIBITIONS

The Museum of Cultural History of Latgale invites its visitors to encounter “A miracle created by the transformations of clay and fire” – the largest permanent exhibition of Latgalian ceramics in Latvia and the world.

For art lovers, the museum has also prepared an opportunity to encounter “Latgale Painting” – in the art exhibition (located at 19.

The Latgale Museum of Cultural History always thinks about its young visitors, offering a wide range of museum educational programmes for schoolchildren and families with children, which are both supplemented and improved based on the diversity of the museum’s collection.
