The museum on the second floor of the Jūrkalne Parish Folk House, which also tells about the victims of the Baltic Sea disaster, is supplemented with antiquities found on the beach and recovered from the depths. The second floor of the building has been designed as a makeshift sunken sailing ship, so visitors will be able to see and experience the underwater cultural heritage, highlighting the shipwrecks that lie off the coast of Jūrkalne. The exhibition includes diving equipment and paraphernalia, photo and video footage from the seabed, underwater finds. Sounds and lighting break down the bridge between history and art. The exhibition space creates an environment like the bottom of the sea, allowing you to “dive in” and look into the hold of a “sunken wreck”.
