One of the most picturesque and beautiful places on the banks of the Gauja River in Valmiera. 80 m wide and 10-15 m high, the most complete outcrops of the Third Tertiary sediments in the Gauja valley. The paths that wind right along the Gauja bank offer a scenic view of both the winding river and the light sand cliff, above which a pine forest towers stately. In the spring, the Gauja banks are frequented by the agile flyers, the chickadees.
