The Žagaře Ridge Nature Trail, which starts near Žagaře, introduces the longest esker (a ridge formed by the retreat of glaciers during the Ice Age) in the Baltics. The trail is 5 kilometres long, overlooks Lake Žvelgaiči and leads to the Žvelgaiči castle mound, the cemetery of the freedom fighters and Love Island, which is accessible via a floating bridge. Partly natural terrain and partly asphalt, marked with white arrows on a green background, the trail includes a viewing platform and an observation tower. Along the way, visitors can explore bubbling springs, the remains of water mills and enjoy modern recreation areas with beaches.
