RoboSkola – a STEAM centre and mobile lessons for pupils
🤖 About RoboSkola
RoboSkola’s mission is to provide STEAM education for every child, integrating science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics into a modern and practical learning process.
RoboSkola has established the first centre for STEAM education, innovation, science and technology in Latvia. At the centre and during outreach sessions, children can experiment, collaborate, tackle practical tasks and explore various technologies.
The aim of the sessions is to develop pupils’ creativity, critical and logical thinking, problem-solving skills, digital literacy and ability to collaborate.
📚 OFFER to pupils and educational institutions
- STEAM workshops;
- block lessons;
- outreach sessions at schools across Latvia;
- STEM and civic engagement events;
- STEAM extracurricular education and clubs;
- teaching materials;
- use of STEAM technology and equipment;
- training and mentoring for teachers.
⭐ What do teachers say about the lessons?
Following the lessons, we have received 680 teacher FEEDBACKS across Latvia. The overall rating confirms that the chosen format helps not only to engage pupils but also to achieve specific learning objectives:
- 4.86 out of 5 — average lesson rating
- more than 99 per cent of teachers confirmed that the lessons included practical activities;
- more than 99 per cent indicated that all pupils were engaged;
- 99% confirmed that the lessons corresponded to the information provided in the catalogue;
- 97% would recommend these lessons to their colleagues
;
.
It is particularly significant to us that teachers highlight not only the technologies used, but also the pupils’ engagement, the work of the lesson leaders and their ability to present the learning content in a clear and modern way.
“A very interesting lesson; the instructors knew how to engage everyone. The lesson showed that traditional maths can be used creatively in a modern way.”
🚐 Outreach STEAM lessons in schools
RoboSkola has visited more than 200 schools across Latvia, running practical and interactive STEAM lessons. These mobile workshops give pupils, even in more remote regions, the chance to explore modern educational resources and technologies.
The sessions are tailored to different age groups and levels of knowledge. They are linked to topics relevant to pupils’ current studies and the national curriculum, strengthening their understanding of natural sciences, mathematics, engineering and technology.
During the outreach sessions, pupils use their sight, hearing, movement, hands-on activities and prior experience. Teachers do not need to organise transport for pupils to the venue, as the RoboSkolas team arrives at the school with all the necessary equipment.
Price of an on-site lesson: €10.00 per child, including tax.
🔬 State-funded STEM activities
RoboSkolas lessons are included in the catalogue of events for the State Education Development Agency’s project ‘STEM and civic participation events for a broader educational experience and career choices’ (information from the catalogue is available at the end of this publication).
Venue: STEAM Education and Technology Centre, 1 Vidus Street, Sigulda, or on-site visits to educational institutions.
