The Aizkraukle Municipality and Koknese Tourism Information Centre offer the opportunity to enjoy art, view photographs and visualisations at interactive stands about tourist attractions in Koknese.
The Tourism Centre has been actively operating in these premises since 2017. Over the past few years, it has attracted visitors, tourists, historians and nature lovers from all over Latvia and different countries around the world. Here you can see art exhibitions, take virtual tours of the Daugava and Pērse valleys and get a glimpse of the now lost natural landscape. The consultants of the Tourist Centre will tell you about the mighty castle, which was built in 1209 on a high dolomite hill. It has stood there for 5 centuries, confident and stately. The modern landscape of the castle ruins and the ancient waterfall of Pērse can be explored in a model showing the Pērse Gorge in the 1920s.
The Tourist Information Centre offers souvenirs, a variety of free itineraries around Koknese and Aizkraukle, as well as products from local producers.
