Get 121 steps closer to the sky and appreciate the magnificent landscape of Rezekne region and the city – this is the opportunity for visitors of the Ančupani observation tower. With the support of JSC “Latvijas Valsts meži” and Rezekne Municipality Council, the 28.5 metre high wooden observation tower was built on the highest hill of Ančupānu Forest, almost 200 metres above sea level. It is worth mentioning that it is not difficult to find the lookout tower – as soon as you leave Rezekne on Rīgas Street, you can see it in the distance above the treetops. There are also several road signs to help you avoid getting lost, the first of which can be seen just after the Rezekne town sign, on the left side of the Makarovka crossroads. A great place for walks in the forest, relaxation and picnics.
