In Ogresgala municipality, near the former cardboard factory, 3.58 ha is occupied by a protected geological object – the Ogre dolomite cliff. It reaches a height of 4 m and from the geological point of view is a unique natural object with palaeontological significance, as the remains of various ancient marine invertebrates and fossil fish have been found there.
It is most convenient to view the dolomite cliff from the opposite – right bank of the Ogre River at low water level.
