Esplanade Recreation Park is the first bicycle park in the Baltics, created in an urban area of 4 hectares and including various zones – a skate park, an asphalted bicycle track, an adventure track and a children’s zone for fun, development and educational leisure time. The park is multifunctional and adapted to 8 different mobility modes – mtb, bmx, street bike, balance bike, skateboard, longboard, roller skates and scooter. The area also has landscaped walking paths, making it accessible to residents and visitors alike.

The skatepark is made of reinforced concrete, whose visual and functional solution goes hand in hand with the overall appearance of the city. This sporty structure accentuates the changes in the terrain of the park, while each monolithic concrete facet delights its users.

The cycle track is an active recreational space adapted to riders of all ages and levels. It is a specially designed asphalt track consisting of different sized hills, switchbacks and small jumps. With the acceleration provided by the roller coasters, riders are able to ride actively without even using the pedals. The layout of the track is designed so that the whole area is visible from any point, eliminating the risk of collisions. There is soft grass all around the track.

The children’s cycle track is similar to the adult track, but smaller in size. The hills are less than 30 cm high, more gentle and suitable for children’s riding level. The construction of technically correct and safe tracks minimises falls and injuries.

The Skills Park is for cyclists only. It attracts with its interesting approach and the integration of different constructions, making the ride exciting. The Skills Bike Park integrates perfectly into the landscape and is also nature and environmentally friendly.

Skills Bike Park for children. The children’s and adults’ skills bike parks differ in the types, sizes and complexity of the structures installed, taking into account the children’s riding skills and level. The bike parks educate, develop and teach both young and old, improving every cyclist’s riding skills, coordination and promoting a sense of safety, even when outside the bike park.

The Esplanade Park is home to the Music Square, a place to relax and walk. The central theme of the Music Square is the sounds of music in an urban environment. It is very symbolic, as the square is located directly opposite the Stanislav Brock Daugavpils Music School, which was founded more than 100 years ago.

The Daugavpils Swamp Trail, a unique tourist and nature educational attraction, is also located in the park. The marsh trail is about one and a half kilometres long with several viewing platforms and hides for bird and animal watching. The trail is located in the Esplanade Wetland next to the Latgale Zoo. You can explore the diverse life of the swamp inhabitants in two ways: by going for a peaceful walk along the well-maintained trail, or by putting yourself in the shoes of a field researcher and choosing an adventurous route.

A free drinking water tap has been installed in the Esplanade Recreation Park (near the Music Square) .
