The Garden of Destiny is a symbol of the nation’s constant renewal and growth, created in nature – here the past, present and future of both man and country meet. Like the Freedom Monument, the Garden of Destiny is created through donations. It is intended as a gift from the people to Latvia on its centenary.

The Garden of Destiny combines outstanding environmental architecture with the splendour of the nature of the Koknese Peninsula and the flow of the Daugava River. The People’s Garden consists of an avenue of apple trees and a cobblestone path leading to an amphitheatre surrounded by oak trees, a public multifunctional building, a Virtual Memorial House with a digital trail and the Great Hill. The observation deck offers a magnificent view of the Daugava River and Koknese Church. The Heart Stone and other attractions await everyone. The Garden of Destiny is popular with sightseers, families and wedding guests. Cultural and recreational events are also held here.

The Garden of Destiny is open to the public on a permanent basis. The active season for visiting the Garden of Destiny is from April to November.

• From November to April – every day from 10:00 to 16:00;
• May – daily from 10:00 to 17:00;
• June – daily from 10:00 to 18:00;
• July and August- daily from 10:00 to 19:00;
• September – daily from 10:00 to 18:00;
• October – daily from 10:00 to 17:00;

ENTRANCE FEE

Admission to the Garden of Destiny is by donation. You can also pay (including make a donation) by credit card at the Destiny Garden Information Centre in the Meeting House.

Bicycles are allowed and the garden can be visited by hiring an electric car (Phone for reservations – 26022919). In the summer season, you can see the Garden of Destiny from the Daugava River by taking a ride on the boat “Gulbis” or the boat “Vīgante”.
