For more than 700 years, Jaunpils Castle has held a number of life stories, secrets and historical events, which are presented by a guide or medieval characters – Brother Theodore, the Keeper of the Keys and a maid – on guided tours. Visiting Jaunpils Castle will be an unforgettable experience for pupils on their annual excursions.

Theatrical excursion “Little Monkeys” / LV/

Each pupil will become a full-fledged medieval school pupil and dress up as a little monk. Under the guidance of a monk and a maid, the little pupils will learn the secrets of palace construction, the symbolism of architectural details, courtly manners, the virtues of a lady of hearts, and how to wield a knight’s weapon. Finally, an ancient cannon will fire in honour of the palace guests!

Groups of up to 25 persons – € 125.00 per group

Groups of more than 25 persons – students € 5.00 per person, adults € 8.00 per person.

The price includes costumes for both children and adults.

2 teachers accompany the group free of charge.

Christmas Journey with Dwarf /LV/

During the Christmas season, children are invited to go on a journey with the attractive Little Dwarf, to make noise together in honour of the Noisy One, to sing songs to the Songbird, to dream in the realm of the Dream Dwarfs. You can bake delicious gingerbread together with Gnome Gardumiņš. The little gnomes will prepare their own gingerbread, which can later be enjoyed with a warm herbal tea in one of the palace halls or in the courtyard by the fire.

The ancient cannon of the castle will fire in honour of the guests and the festivities!

Informative tour / LV/

During the tour, the guide will give an insight into the history of the Knights’ Palace, everyday events and the life stories of the most notable people of the palace.

Theatrical excursion “The Keeper of the Keys to the Castle” / LV/

In the Baron’s absence, all the keys to the castle are entrusted to the Keeper of the Keys, who is responsible for guiding guests through the history of the Knights’ castle, the rules of internal order, the divine and infernal deeds of the Barons and other courtiers, and the methods of medieval education. Finally, an ancient cannon will fire!

Groups (from 6 persons) – students € 5.00 per person, adults € 7.00 per person,

1-2 teachers accompany the group free of charge.

Costume rental

The costume is like a mask that allows you to let go and put yourself in the shoes of a medieval man. The younger pupils will be able to transform into little monks, while the older pupils and their teachers will be able to transform into monks and ladies of the castle.

Forging good luck money

Each student will be able to mint their own lucky coin, decorated with the coat of arms of the Reck family and the inscription “Neuenburg 1301”, the ancient name of the castle and the year it was built.

Medieval games

A medieval board game, wooden stilt walking, sack wrestling and a stability test will allow pupils to challenge each other and themselves!

The Jaunpils Castle family also offers to take care of the stomachs of students and their teachers. Each group can choose the option that suits them best:
