The museum was established in the 1970s. The characteristic landscape of Vecpiebalga displays the buildings of the ancient village of Veveri – 7 farmsteads of farmers and craftsmen – expressive examples of folk construction in the region.
The exhibition displays tools of Piebalga weavers, self-woven blankets, samples of linen fabrics.
Visitors can also weave their own yarn into the canvas woven on the looms.
The outlines of the restored windmill, from which the distances of Piebalga can be seen, blend naturally into the simple and pleasant landscape of the Latvian countryside. A peaceful walk through the green courtyards of the old village gives you a chance to feel the peace and freedom of the pastimes of generations of ancestors who were close to the rhythms and events of nature.
Free admission.
