The picturesque banks of the Viesata River offer a nature and educational trail “Viesata Riverloki” and a picnic in the nature. The nature trail will take you to the steep banks of the river, a 200-year-old pine tree, a brown spring, a pig bath, a beaver house, a logging site, an alder grove, a beech grove, a Spuņņ akmens and many other sights. If you are particularly observant, you will also be able to see various species of birds, information about which can be found on the stands along the trail. The trail is 5.1 km long in one direction and can be followed in 3 different ways. Guided tours are available, but the trail is marked and can be walked unaccompanied. It will take 3-4 hours to walk all the bends of the river.

Spuņņakmens or Spuņņu akmens is one of the great stones of Latvia. It is located in the Viesata River. It can be reached by following the nature trail “Viesata River Bends”. It is a granite stone brought by glaciers, almost 2 m high, 4.7 m long and the same width, with a circumference of about 16 m.
