The Nature Park is a NATURA 2000 territory, established in 2004 to preserve rare and protected forest and swamp biotopes, plant communities, endangered and protected plant and animal species in Latvia and Europe; a distinctive landscape of high visual quality and to provide the public with high quality recreational resources.
The

Nature

Park has a 20-metre high observation tower with a wide view of the Kārsava region. Two stargazing chairs have been installed next to the observation tower, which will allow you to see the beautiful panorama during the day and help naturalists catch the shooting stars at nightfall. The local cycle route No 776 takes cyclists through the most beautiful parts of the park and allows them to enjoy the hilly terrain of the Numernes Ramparts.
A nature trail in the territory of the Numernes Valnis Nature Park leads to the environmental installation “Fire”, which was installed in the North Latgale region with a special message – to listen to nature, to respect what it has to say, to realise that man is not the only inhabitant of nature and that there is much to be preserved and cared for around us. The project “Loba doba Zīmeļlatgolā, or discover the nature explorer in you!”
