ABOUT THE MUSEUM
Rainis and Aspazija Summer House is a museum dedicated to two outstanding personalities in Latvian culture. Rainis bought the summer house in Majori in the autumn of 1926. From 1927 to 1929 it was a place of work and summer rest for the poets.
The exhibition “Me and You” is dedicated to Rainis and Aspazija’s love and creative peaks. The exhibition begins with the poets meeting and ends with Rainis’ death. Two lines are drawn – the horizon of life and the vertical of creativity. Power and beauty. And above all – love.
No less interesting are the restored living quarters of both poets – the summer cottages and the upper floors of the garden cottage.
