Kalnsēta Park on the banks of the Ciecere River was created at the end of the 19th century by the owner of Kalnamuiža, Baron von Reke. On the edge of the park is the Tomb of Love or Johanna’s Tomb. This is the place of the legend about the tragic love between the Baron’s daughter Johanna and the manor servant Karl. Between the manor house and the river there is an open-air stage. The park has now become a popular place for recreation, where festivals, concerts and festivals are held in the summer.
“The Path of Art, Music and Love” is a 5 km long walking trail in Kalnsēta Park, which introduces visitors to the history of the park and to famous people from Saldus – painter Janis Rosenthal and musician Ēriks Ķiģelis. Information boards are placed in several places, introducing noteworthy park objects, historical events, stories and personalities.
