Class 10 of Baltinava Secondary School and teacher Anita Ločmele, participating in the environmental initiative “100 Works for Latvia” school competition, created a square “Horseshoes of Happiness” in the centre of Baltinava. With the help of professional equipment, the pupils installed a special stone elevation in the square, on which they created the coat of arms of the Baltinava municipality with coloured stones. The square was also laid with a concrete path, handmade benches and a lawn. The carefully designed square won the first prize in the competition in the group of 10-12 grades.
