Within the project “Loba doba Zīmeļlatgolā, or Discover the Nature Explorer in You”, 5 nature installations were created in five districts of Northern Latgale – Balvi, Viļaka, Kārsava, Rugāji and Baltinava. These objects invite to realise that man is not the only inhabitant of nature, that there is so much to be preserved and cared for. The environmental installation object “Earth” has been created in Baltinava municipality. Visvaldis Asaris, the author of the idea of the object, emphasised at the opening event that language is our identity, one of the forms, but the earth is probably the second strongest. The earth is also our God-earth. Baltinava people are hard-working farmers, almost every corner of the land in the region is cultivated, so the installation perfectly reflects the main occupation of the inhabitants.
