Natura 2000 site protected in Europe. The seashore with its fine white sand, dunes and pine forest beckon visitors in both winter and summer.
Picnic and rest areas are located in the territory of the Nature Park in Bernāti.
At the westernmost land point of Latvia, the Green Ray boundary marker (56°22.637, 20° 58.739) is erected.
It contains a sun motif and is one of four granite sculptures by sculptor Vilnis Titans that have been installed in the area since 1998.
The sculptures in the Nature Park are based on the folktale “How the Colours of South Kurzeme Came into Being” by the sculptor Alvis Vitrups.
At the top of a high dune is a memorial to the first President of the Republic of Latvia, Jānis Čakste, who on 27 September 1924 said the words “There must be a resort here!” In the summer of 2013, the memorial site was landscaped with a comfortable staircase with two viewing platforms and benches.
