At the top of Cīruļkalns Hill there is a modern and technologically equipped nature observation lookout tower or “Zaļais tower”, which is 22 metres high and will be freely accessible to every inhabitant and guest of the Cesis municipality.

The roof of the lookout tower is equipped with solar panels that will generate electricity and at the same time provide illumination of the tower railing in the late evening hours, as well as the operation of the nature observation video camera installed in the tower spire.

Cīruļkalns was chosen for the construction of the tower because its summit is one of the highest points on this side of the Gauja River, so from the top of the tower there will be a wide view of both the town of Cesis and the landscape of the Gauja valley. From here you can easily take a walk along the Cīrulīši nature trails.
