Exhibitions and displays
Ancient pottery stove – Entering through the parade entrance, you will see the castle’s greatest pride – a unique pottery stove from the early 20th century, made of 130 pots with 50 different views of Riga and Jurmala painted on them.
Castle salons – Since the reconstruction works in spring 2014, the castle salons have acquired a completely different look and feel. In collaboration with Morris&Co, the rooms have been given an English Art Nouveau feel. The variety of natural motifs, the playful winding lines, the rich colours and their saturation in the wallpaper patterns and upholstery fabrics allow you to get a better feel for the liveliness of Art Nouveau.
Forest Museum – 2017. In January 2017, the renovated Forest Museum opened its doors, where you can get to know the living nature of Latvia’s forests in an interactive way – by looking at the trees, learning about the voices of animals and birds, touching fur rust and footprints, sorting out the energy exchange processes in nature, learning about the process of bird molting, seeing for yourself the differences in tree density… Almost every visitor will find something interesting and worth trying out for themselves!
Castle Tower – To climb the 20-metre-high castle tower, which offers a wide view of the Jaunmokas surroundings, you have to climb a few dozen steps. To make the climb more exciting, the tower has exhibitions on hunting topics.
