Ķevele springs are located in Vītiņi parish, near the town of Auce, about four kilometres north-west of Vecauce Castle.
Seven springs flow out of a ravine, the banks of which are fortified with boulders, and then merge into a single stream. Legend has it that during the Great Northern War, Latvian scribes used the water of the spring to cure King Charles XII of Sweden, who could not be helped even by the doctors trained at court. Since then, the springs have also been called the King’s Springs and the water has been attributed healing properties. Next to the springs there is a nice resting place for lovers of silence and nature with a fireplace, swings, a table and benches for quality rest.
