50m from the shore, in the sea, the waves wash over the Pāvilosta Big Stone (Sea Stone) – the largest sea stone on the Kurzeme coast of the Baltic Sea. It is 3.5m high above the ground (1.5m in the water) and 15m in circumference. In Soviet times, this stone was a boundary marker, as civilians were allowed to move along the seashore from the North Pier to the Big Stone.
