ABOUT THE MUSEUM
The Rainis Museum “Jasmuiža” is located in the middle of Latgale, on the bank of the small river Jaša, and is housed in two buildings of the ancient Jasmuiža Manor suitable for a museum. The third building is the workshop and kiln reconstructed in 1999 by the old master of Latgalian ceramics, Andrejs Paulāns.
“Jasmuiža” is called the land of the poet’s new days. In the reconstructed house of the estate manager, visitors can see an exhibition about the poet’s grammar school and student years, while in the restored cow barn of the estate, a house of traditional Latgalian culture and crafts has been created.
