Sand-gravel deposit “Villas”
"Karjers Talce", Lībagu pagasts, Talsu novads

The company has been mining and processing minerals in the Villas sand and gravel deposit in the territory of Lībagi parish since 1956. The Villas deposit has a total
extraction area of 35ha and a maximum extraction depth of 30 m. In 1966, the first asphalt-concrete plant produced in Russia was built. In 1987, the company started producing asphalt concrete with a German machine “Teltomat”, which is still in operation today. As of the start of the 2013 season, liquefied petroleum gas, a more environmentally friendly fuel, is used for asphalt production. In 2013, TALCE Ltd. employs 145 people, including 40 at the Villas production site and the construction materials laboratory. Importantly, local natural resources: sand and sand-gravel mix are recycled and incorporated into the Kurzeme region’s infrastructure improvements. The sand and gravel deposit “Villas” can be viewed from the road near the “Mundigu” houses.

Tours of the plant are available for groups by prior arrangement.
