Two-day excursion in Cesis

1. day

12:45 – Arrival in Cesis by train (departure from Riga 11:20).

13:00 – Departure to Little Wonderland:

• STEM Workshops.

This programme is paid for by the Schoolbag, the fee is €10 per pupil.

Lunch – Will be organised at a local café.

After lunch:

• A tour of Cesis Town: Introduction to the history and architecture of the town, as well as notable historical attractions.
• **Walk through the Old Town of Cesis and hike along the Cīrulītis Nature Trail to the Ozolkalns campsite:
  • Students explore the streets of the Old Town of Cesis, visit historical sites and participate in nature exploration.
  • Arrival at the campsite around 18:00.

19:00 – Dinner – prepared in Žagarkalna café.

Evening activities at the campsite of the students’ choice:

• Half-hour games, stories around the campfire or other leisure activities.

2. day

Breakfast at the campsite – Prepared and paid in advance.

11:00 – Climb Ozolkalns and hike towards Cesis:

• Physical activity and beautiful views from Ozolkalns. Students can enjoy the surroundings of Cēsis, learn about the diversity of nature during the hike.

An additional option – Space Centre:

• Visit according to group interests. If students wish, they can choose this extra activity.

Return to Cesis station and drive to Riga in the afternoon.

Approximate cost per pupil (minimum group of 20 pupils) € 120, price includes:

• Train ticket ( Riga-Cēsis-Riga)
• Lunch
• Overnight at Ozolkalns campsite
• Dinner + breakfast
• Small Wonderland (STEM programme)
• Visit to the Space Centre

Group cost – guide (one-off):

• Organisation and guiding of the event on the first day: €170.00 (per group)

• Part of the activities are covered by the “School Bag” programme (Little Wonderland).
• Lunch, dinner and breakfast are organised in advance so that students can enjoy a quality meal.
• The guide and the activities are included in the price of the programme.

This two-day excursion offers students both educational and entertaining activities that develop their knowledge of history, technology and nature. Students will acquire new skills that are essential for their future educational journey.
