ABOUT US
The nature trails of Gauja National Park Līgatne were established in 1975 to introduce visitors to nature, the wild mammal species that live in Latvia, the diversity of nature and the need for protection.
On the banks of the Gauja River, in an area rich in forested ravines, more than 5 km of trails have been created where you can observe wild animals and birds typical of the Latvian fauna. A visit takes on average 2-3 hours.
In the nature trails of
Ligatne
, as in the forests of Latvia, animals have adapted to their habitat and local conditions. Be a good friend – don’t feed the animals!
Elk, foxes, bears, roe deer, raccoon dogs, lynx, wild boar, squirrels, hedgehogs, as well as birds such as hoopoes and owls can be observed in the enclosures of
Ligatne
Nature Trails.
When visiting the territory of Ligatne Nature Trails, visitors are recommended to wear comfortable, suitable for hiking clothing and footwear.
