Nature living room/ Staki Park
Stradu municipality, Gulbene region

A new, unique environmental object – a nature room – has been opened in the Staki Park in Stradu parish, Gulbene municipality, within the framework of the project “Art for the Park”. It was created by artist Linda Riņķe, craftsman Arvis Rubenis, together with like-minded people and supporters. The Nature Room has a sofa, a lounge chair and a chess table, all made in a beautiful mosaic technique.

The objects in the Nature Room are made of tiles and crockery of different colours donated by people. There you can see bowls, cups and pot lids in different patterns, shapes and colours, and you can also find the Red Head and the Wolf. The colourful tiles are also elegantly arranged and can already be seen as you approach the park.

The project “Art for the Park” was created by Alise Rubene-Dūne, who took part in the “Generation for Generation!” small project competition run by the association “Sateka”. With the support of the association, Gulbene municipality and Stradu parish administration, the project was realised in July 2019.

We would like to remind you that in 2018 artist Linda Riņķe together with like-minded people created a mosaic wall for the bus stop in Šķieneri village, which also won the Latvian Public Media Award – Kultūrvieta 2018.

The Nature Room is already a popular place for visitors to admire the fine work, so we invite everyone to visit the unique Nature Room in Staki Park, where you can also play disc golf and walk the barefoot trail.
