The main attraction of the Kamanu Reserve is the Kamanos Bog. But how can you cross the swamp? It turns out that there is a 4-kilometre-long nature trail (also wheelchair accessible). Because of its status as a reserve, the reserve (and the trail) can only be visited with a certified guide. The guided walk lasts about 3 hours, during which you can watch the dense mixed forest merge into the marsh. The marsh is surrounded by low, arching, old pine trees, which reveal the shimmering “lakes” of the marsh. The landscape is more reminiscent of the northern tundra than a typical Lithuanian landscape. Here you can find lynx, wolves, black grouse, the largest newts in Europe and even 46 protected bird species!
