Zuzeum Art Museum – guided tours for schoolchildren and creative workshops for families

🎨 ABOUT US

The Zuzeum Art Museum is a place where you can discover contemporary art from Latvia and around the world, as well as the Zuzeum Collection – the world’s largest private collection of Latvian art.

The core of the collection comprises art from the late 19th century, classical modernism from the first half of the 20th century, Latvian art from the 1950s to the 1980s, as well as works by contemporary Latvian and international artists.

Zuzeum is housed in the building of a former cork factory in Riga’s historic centre. The building was designed in 1910 by the architect and engineer Edmund von Trompovskis. Today, the museum is not only an exhibition space but also a venue for cultural exchange and the sharing of ideas, hosting exhibitions, events and a variety of creative activities.

👩‍🏫 Guided tours for school groups

A guided tour of the current exhibition led by an art mediator offers the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of and familiarise oneself with the exhibition’s theme and the works of art on display, as well as the history of the art museum’s building and collection.

During the tour, pupils are not merely listeners – the group has the opportunity to ask questions that interest them, take part in discussions and, together with the art mediator, shape the course of the tour.

Zuzeum tours are led by professional art historians and art mediators. Tours can be tailored to children and are available in several languages.

In the workshops, children get hands-on, experiment with different materials and create their own artworks.
