Gardegunis offers unique interactive sessions where children don’t just listen to fairy tales, but become part of them. The learning process takes place through movement, creative tasks, discussions and hands-on activities, fostering children’s natural curiosity and desire to explore the world.
In the sessions at the Gardegunis Fairy Tale Studio, children do not just listen – they are heard
During each session, children are encouraged to express their thoughts, share their experiences, use their imagination and create their own sequels to the stories. This helps to develop self-confidence, communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to defend their own views. During the sessions, particular emphasis is placed on the children’s emotional wellbeing, so that everyone feels heard, accepted and valued.
The sessions promote:
- the development of listening and comprehension skills;
- language and speech development, and the expansion of vocabulary;
- analytical thinking;
- creativity and imagination;
- emotional intelligence and the development of social skills;
- the development of gross and fine motor skills;
- develops an understanding of cause and effect.

Gardeguns’ main aim is to help children fall in love with books, develop a joy of reading, and show that stories can be an exciting journey into a world of knowledge, emotions and imagination.

📖 About the sessions
Fairy tales – works by both Latvian and foreign authors, as well as stories and excerpts from them – take centre stage in the sessions as central attractions. Each time, the children are introduced to a new story, whilst developing their listening, thinking and creative skills.
At the Fairy Tale Studio, children have the opportunity both to LISTEN and to BE HEARD.
🎭 Interactive activities
Every session is interactive – children actively participate as the story unfolds, discuss what they have heard and take part in various creative activities:
- share their experiences and discuss the events in the story;
- search for objects, developing their concentration and fine motor skills;
- draw, play and act out the story;
- portray emotions and learn to recognise them;
- use their imagination and create their own stories;
- practise their speech and develop their language skills.

👩🏫 Lessons for pupils
Fairy-tale lessons are also suitable for primary school-aged children. They help to develop literary thinking and strengthen language skills:

- creating their own fairy tales;
- understanding intonation and the meaning of sentences;
- retelling what has been heard;
- fostering an interest in books.
Most importantly, the lessons take place in a relaxed, playful and positive atmosphere.
📚 STEM Offer
The Gardegunis Fairy Tale Studio invites pre-school children (aged 5–6) and pupils in Years 1–3 across Latvia to take part in interactive STEM lessons.

- “The Exciting World of Numbers with Kazlēns” (for pre-schoolers only)
- “The Secrets of Water: Sinks or Floats?” (for pre-schoolers only)
🏫 Licensed extracurricular education in pre-schools
Gardegunis offers not only outreach STEM lessons in pre-schools and primary schools, but also a licensed extracurricular education programme in pre-school institutions throughout Latvia.
Gardegunis’s fairy-tale lessons are a licensed extracurricular programme, which allows parents to reclaim 25.5 per cent of the lesson fees by submitting their annual personal income tax return.
The following
is required from the pre-school educational institution:
- management approval for the programme to be implemented at your pre-school;
- a suitable room and agreed lesson times;
- a group of children who sign up for the classes.
Gardegunis takes care of everything else – we provide professional and experienced teachers, a fully developed and licensed curriculum, all necessary materials, practical tasks and classroom equipment.
Age groups
- For children aged 1.5–3 years – sensory activities, play-based learning, educational materials and games, first experiments and exploring the world. Focus on attention span, collaborative skills and sensory development.
- Children aged 4–6 years – tasks, experiments, construction, development of logical thinking, creative thinking and preparation for school. The focus is on sustained attention, emotional development, and completing intellectual tasks both individually and collaboratively.
The programme comprises several dozen carefully designed themed lessons, with interactive tasks, experiments, worksheets, teaching materials and practical activities prepared for each theme.
Gardeguņa Fairy Tale Studio lessons in pre-school settings enable nurseries to offer pupils high-quality, licensed extracurricular education that fosters curiosity, expands vocabulary and communication skills, develops logical thinking, creativity and an interest in reading and books from an early age.
📍 Classes in Mārupe
Gardeguņa’s weekly interactive storytelling sessions take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Mārupe, at the Mārupe Business Centre, 38 Daugavas Street.
