ABOUT THE MUSEUM

The pearl of Latgale Art Nouveau. 20. built at the beginning of the century as a place for art and music. It has undergone historical changes, becoming a school, a military headquarters, a parish administration and a library. 2015. in 2001, it was reborn to inspire and become the place where everyone flies – creative ideas and plans, the sounds of music and the words of poetry, bats and Muses, and perhaps ghosts.

Environmental educational game

The environmental education game “Lifetime Mission of the Manor Bat” will allow you to get to know better the natural and cultural values and stories found in the Lūznava Manor Park. The game offers two options: a long version, where the dexterity tasks – finding objects in nature – are complemented with extensive educational information about 30 natural objects of Lūznava Park, and a short version, which includes activities around 10 natural objects of Lūznava and is designed for team competitions.

Interactive game “Manor Bat’s Game of Life” for better understanding of bat life
The game is based on questions and tasks designed with different checkpoints to complete and answer. The game can be played by people of all ages in teams. A total of four games have been created – two in English for two age groups and two in English for two age groups.
The aim of the game is to score as many points as possible in the time allowed. Players are invited to visit the checkpoints in a circular sequence.
The game is free for everyone, but requires the LOQUIZ app to be downloaded first.

PERMANENT MULTIMEDIA EXHIBITION. Kerbedz: following engineering ideas

You can get to know the exhibition on your own during individual visits, on guided tours or in a specially designed educational programme.

Find out how bridges are built, put yourself in the shoes of a bridge builder, learn the story of railway bridge engineer Staņislav Kerbedz and expand your knowledge of engineering.

• The Hologram Room is a place where you can see various attractions and images related to Lüznava and civil engineering in a 360-degree landscape.
• The Hall of Fame showcases the achievements of engineer Stanislav Kerbedz, tracing his professional career through the decades at the moments when he received his awards. An interactive screen allows you to travel through a map of Europe and explore Kerbedz’s engineering constructions.
• In the classroom, like an extraordinary physics or history lesson, visitors can learn about the origins of bridges, tunnels and railways, the laws of physics that influence construction, and the difficulties that engineers had to overcome. The classroom also invites everyone to test their engineering ingenuity and their skills in building bridges and other structures.

In a specially designed interactive classroom, students will be able to find out the answers to questions about why bridges are needed, what a bridge does, what the functions of a bridge are, what types of bridges there are, what bridges are made of and many other questions.

Theexhibition KERBEDZ’S CABINET will be on display until 30 April 2026.

The exhibition presents an interpretation of the interior stylistics of the late 19th and early 20th centuries and a recreation of the working and leisure space of the two Stanislaw Kerbedz, former lords of the manor and distinguished railway engineers. The exhibition is inspired by other office furnishings of the time, as well as biographies of the Kerbedz family and the history of Lūznava Manor.

Graphic workshop

Under the guidance of artist Jana Indričāne, visitors to Lūznava Manor can learn printmaking techniques, engage in creative activities and create a unique souvenir with their own hands to take away as a memento. In the printmaking workshop, you can create an Art Nouveau ornament using the linocut technique on paper, fabric, wood, cardboard or other materials.

Bee wax knitting workshop

The beeswax knitting workshop will give you the opportunity to make your own reusable and washable beeswax knitting, which you can not only take away as a souvenir, but also use in everyday food storage. The beeswax cloth workshop will teach you where and how to use beeswax cloth in your daily life, its benefits and how to care for it.

Screen printing workshop

The head of the silkscreen printing workshop Jānis Jurčenko will tell, show and give you the opportunity to learn the silkscreen printing technique and create a unique souvenir with your own hands that you will be able to take with you as a souvenir. The silkscreen workshop offers the opportunity to create an Art Nouveau ornament on eco paper or fabric.

Sewing workshop for fabric bags (fruit/vegetables)

The sewing workshop for cloth bags (fruit/vegetables) will give you the opportunity to sew your own cloth bag (from curtains, dresses, etc. already produced products) with a graphic design of Lūznava Manor. This way, you will own a stylised, eco-friendly and sustainable fruit/vegetable bag for your new daily habits.

Paper-making workshop

Almost half the world’s trees are cut down to make paper. That’s why the paper moulding workshops aim to reuse paper, to show children, young people and adults the recycling process and its importance in a creative and simple way. As a result of the workshops, you will create your own unique paper, complementing it with decorations available in nature.

Archery or sport activities

Archery is a great recreational activity for people of all ages and fitness levels. Everyone interested will be taught the basics of archery and have the opportunity to practice before shooting a bow. Participants will also be offered a variety of sporting activities.
