The people of the Dairy Manor will be able to tell you about the dairy industry in Latvia, show you the machines used to make milk, cream and butter. Yes, the Dairy Museum is home to the half-cow Gauja! She is standing there, ready to let everyone try their hand at milking, after which you will have to skim the milk and churn the butter. And that’s not all – a Didactic Cow and Calf have been made especially for the Milk Museum and will tell you the fascinating story of how milk is made.

The people of the Dairy Manor will tell you about the dairy industry in Latvia, show you the machines used to make milk, cream and butter. One of the most unique specimens in the museum is a gift from the Queen of England to Latvian dairy farmers for the best export butter. There is also a colourful butter export tin and glass milk bottles that will evoke fond memories for any visitor to the museum.

Guidedtour on the MILK ROAD .

At the beginning of the tour, you can see the extensive exhibition, watch a film about the dairy industry and then roll up your sleeves and milk your own milk. Yes, the Dairy Museum is home to the half-cow Gauja! She’s standing there calmly, ready to let everyone try their hand at milking. And that’s not all – you have to skim the milk and then churn your own butter. We can promise you that no one will be indifferent!
