The Curonian Spit is a true natural wonder, dominated by unspoilt silvery beaches, huge stretches of shifting dunes and dense and diverse forests. One of the most spectacular places is the Nagliai Nature Reserve, located between the villages of Jodkrante and Pervalka.

The nature trail is a fascinating 1.2 km long route leading to the grey dunes, also known as the Dunes of Death. It starts at the Smiltine-Nida road and winds through a sparse forest. It is a combination of natural sandy paths and wooden footbridges, leading through villages once swallowed by shifting sands to a small lookout tower with a magnificent view of the Curonian Spit.
