The view from Gleznotajkalns is up to 12 kilometres away. Across the valley you can see the tower of Turaida Castle, and down below, at the foot of the main shore, you can see the site of the ancient houses of Kalna Klauki. The most striking landscape is the Gauja Valley and the Gauja 80 metres below.

The breathtaking landscape from the cliff overlooking the Gauja Valley was painted by such famous artists as J. Feder, J. Rosenthal and V. Purvītis, hence the name of the place.
