🐪 About Rakši ZOO
Rakši ZOO is an open-air zoo in the Cēsis district, where you can encounter more than 200 animals. It is home to camels, llamas, alpacas, lemurs, Australian kangaroos, zebras, sloths, gibbons, peacocks, donkeys, goats, sheep, Highland cattle, parrots, emus, ostriches and other animals.
Rakši is ideal for both school trips and family outings. Your visit can be enhanced by feeding the animals, going for a camel ride, walking with a llama, getting to know the lemurs and taking part in other activities.
🎒 School trip programmes
Rakši Zoo offers three school trip programmes with varying ranges and durations of activities.
Duration: 1.5–2 hours
A Sahara adventure right here in Latvia! Pupils can get to know the animals at the Camel Park, take part in various activities and enjoy some active time in the fresh air.
✅ The programme includes
- A visit to the Camel Park;
- meeting the gibbons and sloths;
- a visit to the Tropical House;
- a camel ride;
- a walk with a llama;
- bouncy castle;
- picnic spot.
PRICES: 15 EUR per person
Duration: 1.5–2 hours
A little bit of Madagascar right here in Rakši! The programme centres on the Lemur Park and the chance to get to know the lemurs better.
✅ The programme includes
- RIDES on the electric train to the Lemur Park;
- a visit to the Lemur Park;
- feeding the lemurs;
- meeting the lemurs at Rakši Airport’s ‘Madagascar’;
- the chance to climb aboard a real aeroplane and helicopter;
- RIDES on electric boats;
- tour of the Rakši yachts.
Prices: 15 EUR per person
Duration: 3 hours
The most comprehensive school excursion offer, combining the Camel Park, the Lemur Park and a variety of active entertainment options.

Suitable for families who want to explore Rakši Open-Air Zoo and its inhabitants. You can enhance your visit with animal feeding and other available activities.
🌍 Rakši’s Grand Tour
A more extensive offer for families wishing to spend more time in Rakši. Depending on the current offer, this includes a visit to the Camel and Lemur Park, the Tropical House, lemur feeding, a camel ride, a walk with a llama, electric boats and other activities.

🍽️ Catering
The Camel Café operates on the Rakši site, where you can buy hot meals. The offer includes speciality items, including camel’s milk ice cream.
Korean BBQ Rakši – King Julian is also available, offering a Korean BBQ experience.
🛏️ Accommodation
If you’d like to stay in Rakši for longer, the ‘Rakši’ concept hotel is available . It’s designed in a Moroccan style and allows you to relax whilst being close to animals and nature.
