The starting point of the two-kilometre-long and beautiful nature trail is located in the nature reserve “Ventas ieleja”, Pils iela 8.

The trail winds along the left bank of the Venta River up to the Kuldīga New Bridge, allowing you to enjoy nature views, bird watching and the flow of the Venta River. The trail overlooks the Venta hub, which is the most important geological object in the Venta Valley Nature Reserve and the widest waterfall in Europe – 249 m.

The trail is 2.4 km long in one direction, and at the end it makes a circle to return the same way. However, if you feel inspired to take a longer route, you can continue over the new Venta Bridge, along Mazdārzu, Saldus, Valciņu and Stendes Streets to the Old Bridge over the Venta. The total length of the trail is then 5.4 km.

The trail will allow you to enjoy a leisurely walk even after sunset, as it is illuminated from Pils Street to Vienības Street.
