Lake Kaņieris bird observation tower
Lake Kaņieris bird observation tower

The CEMEX birdwatching tower is located on the Nut Peninsula of Lake Kaņieris and provides a view over a significant part of Lake Kaņieris. As the lake is heavily overgrown with reeds and other plants, getting close to the birds and observing them was difficult. Now the whole lake can be seen from a bird-watching tower financed by CEMEX. When in the tower, pay particular attention to the group of white trees to the south-west of the tower. This is a colony of cormorants. Looking westwards, you can see the forests of the National Park’s reserve area, above which there is a good chance of spotting a soaring sea eagle. It is worth coming here to enjoy the lake scenery, swans and elegant white herons.
