The configuration of the trail is complex – it loops up and down. The trail starts in Krāslava, from the viewpoint (entering the town from Daugavpils).

Karņicka Hill offers the most breathtaking view of the town! A picturesque place with a romantic legend of a great and faithful love between Count Plater’s daughter Emilia and the Polish officer Joseph Karnicki. To enjoy the scenery from Karņicki Hill even better, a telescope has been installed at the top of the hill.
