Daoud Waterfall
Siguldas novads

Daudas Waterfall is located north of Sigulda in the bed of the Daudas River. It is the third largest waterfall in Latvia. Height – 2.4 m, width – 1.5 – 2.5 m.

The Dauda or Lākturu River (called Jurbrenčupīte, Ķillupīte in its upper reaches – an ancient Liv name) begins in Sigulda Parish in the Nurmiži Ravine Reserve and is a tributary of the left bank of the Gauja River. The river flows through a deep canyon-like ravine.

Most of the Dauda’s course is included in the Gauja National Park Nurmižu ravine reserve zone, which can be visited only for scientific research purposes with a special permit from the Nature Conservation Agency.
