18th-19th centuries Ielīcas” is a cultural monument of national importance, which started its revival in 2006.

Currently, the farmstead “Ielīcas” is under restoration/renovation and can be visited within 7 minutes by car from Valka.

A unique farmstead, which includes a complete complex of buildings typical for the region: a dwelling house, a bathhouse with a whaling room, 3 barns, a cowshed, a pigsty, a stable with feed rooms, a granary, a carthouse, a cellar. The buildings are arranged in a system of courtyards typical of northern Vidzeme. The buildings have preserved many ancient structural details – stone foundations, log walls in cross hills, log gables, a roof with a rock structure, log floors and ceilings. The axe was the only tool used in the construction of several buildings.

The present buildings of ‘Ielīcu’ date from the 18th century. II half to the 19th century. The buildings of the “Ilielikes” are from the 18th century to the end of the 19th century, but retain much older cultural and historical elements. Thus, the buildings of “Ielīci” reflect at least 300-400 years of Latvian folk building development.

The film “Pūt vējiņi” was shot in “Ielīci”.
