The fascinating Jurkiškis Streamis located in the Asvejas Regional Park. Although only 1.2 km long, this small stream boasts a dramatic drop of around 12 metres, reminiscent of mountain streams. Its bed, surrounded by slopes rising to an astonishing 18 metres, is strewn with pebbles. At the heart of the gorge is the Jurkiški Stone, a national natural heritage artefact measuring approximately 5 metres in length. To fully discover the beauty of this canyon-like valley, a 1.5 km-long trail has been created along the stream, complete with information boards and signs.
At the beginning of the trail, near the car park, there is an information board with a map. The route is marked by recently renovated, modern signposts, and a renovated staircase descends into the valley. Although the arrows point anticlockwise, it is also possible to cross the path in the opposite direction.
The trail includes several viewing platforms overlooking the valley of the Jurkiškis stream. In autumn, as the leaves fall, Lake Asvejas becomes visible through the branches of the trees. There is a rest area at the beginning of the trail, and strategically placed benches along the entire length of the trail, offering moments of respite.
