The only forest museum in Northern Latvia has been operating since 1989 in the barn-charcoal kiln of the Ķirbiži manor complex, built in the 18th-19th centuries.
In its four halls, visitors can get acquainted with the treasures of the flora and fauna of the surrounding forests – protected plants, hunting trophies, animal and bird specimens, forest management tools. The exhibition also includes materials on the history of forestry schools in Latvia, the administrative history of the forests on the eastern shore of the Gulf of Riga and forest workers since 1921.

The educational trail is circular and ends where it started – at the Forest Museum. It is approximately two kilometres long.
