ABOUT THE MUSEUM
The Anton Rupainis Museum is located in the village of Bērzgale in the Rezekne Municipality, situated in a picturesque location between the lakes Micāni and Meirāni. The museum offers a glimpse into the pages of cultural history that reveal A. Rupainis as a multifaceted and socially significant personality. He was a writer, educator, public figure, conductor, author of the historical novels “White Fathers”, “Mara Awakens” and “Tauta grib dzeivot”.

Visiting the Anton Rupainis Museum, you can get acquainted not only with the museum’s exhibition, but also visit the historical sites of the parish. The cemetery of the Veitko family and the monument to Anton Rupainis in the cemetery of Bērzgale, the cemetery of the brothers, the artificial island in Lake Micani in the times of the lords, the Veitko manor house, the peninsula in the surroundings of Lake Micani. In the programme we introduce the diversity and traditions of folklore genres in Bērzgale parish, pupils take part in activities: they tell about their first acquaintance with a folklore genre – a fairy tale, riddle, folk song or other genre
