Post Office island
Pasta sala, Jelgava

Pasta Island – a multifunctional place for recreation, culture and social activities, opened in autumn 2014. The 9-hour island has several children’s playgrounds, outdoor fitness equipment, a volleyball court, walking and cycling paths, a public skating rink in the winter months and a beach on Pasta Island in the summer. At the far end of the island, there is an educational playground divided into several zones: farm, forest, marsh, meadow and field, as well as a viewing platform on three levels.

A new environmental object has been installed on Pasta Island – a gift to the city from Jelgava resident Sandra Sproģe – a metal sculpture “Wheel – Bench” to complement the existing metal Love Trees, where newlyweds hang locks (by metal artist Aldis Sproģis).

The island’s territory is home to the Fireclay Sculpture Park, where more than 20 fireclay sculptures are on display.

Active leisure enthusiasts can rent electric scooters and scooters on Pasta Island and go for a ride around the city with family or friends. For the younger riders, there are children’s electric cars, which can be driven by the young driver or by parents using a remote control.

Pasta Island hosts the city’s biggest festivals, such as the International Ice Sculpture and Sand Sculpture Festivals, the Mechatron Technology and Innovation Festival.

Attention! No dogs allowed on Pasta Island.
